Special FX Photography

Welcome to Penguin's most loved type of photography... special effects. Browse through the photos by clicking the relevant links.

High speed effects are captured here using a sound trigger and a xenon flash light. Includes photos of shattering lightbulbs and flying animals.
Time lapse photography does the opposite of high speed photography - that is, it speeds up the action. Some very interesting videos can be captured...
Water splash photos are captured with extremely high shutter speeds with assisting flash. Motion of the water particles is frozen and some amazing photos result.

Infrared (theory)

Infrared (gallery)

IR photography enables us to see the world through infrared light, which is normally invisible to the human eye. A camera with an IR filter, however, will see it!
Precise motion can be recorded on stroboscopic photos through use of a xenon strobe light. For example, the trajectory of a ball can be shot quite clearly.
Other special FX such as cool stuff you can do with long exposure times... This link takes you to Penguinphotos, where the other FX photos have been stored.
